         Meet the people behind sffworld.com
Welcome to sffworld.com, one of the largest SF and Fantasy literature websites on the Internet today. All run by a bunch of volunteers that invest of their spare time to make this possible. Here you can get to know a few of the people that make this site possible.

Dag Rambraut
I'm the owner of the site, started the whole thing as a hobby back in 1997 and over the years it has grown to be what it is today, still just a hobby by the way. More about me at my homepage.

Mike Trevors
Hello, I'm Mike, and I hail from Calgary, Alberta, Canada! You've probably seen me floating around the forum's as Keyoke. Who am I? Well, I just told you! ;) I'm 31 years of age, and have been reading fantasy for many many years, with my first fantasy book being 'The Hobbit'.

I tend to favor fantasy mostly, and of lates, have really been eyeing many of the United Kingdom authors such as Erikson, Kearny, Chadbourn, and Barclay. Also, the genre of Science Fiction has been catching my eye more and more. Finally, I'm also a avid comic book reader.

Outside of my reading, I work with computers (retail) and help with some minor service problems that may stem from that. I've graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with Business Management, and currently enrolled in school again taking Computer Sciences. Other than that, what more is their to say? My duties here are simple, I help Dag out. I moderate the message forums, and help out where I can. Hope you enjoy your stay here! :)

Gary Wassner
I am a New Yorker, born and bred! I spent many years studying and teaching philosophy and traveling around the world, before family matters compelled me to become a business man. Now, I write whenever I have a free moment. I cherish words. My greatest pleasure comes from manipulating them in order to evoke the emotions that thrill the reader, warm the heart, bring tears to the eyes or a chill to the bones. Fortunately, I type almost as quickly as I think.
In the past three years, I have written three fantasy novels; GemQuest, The Twins; GemQuest, The Awakening; and GemQuest, The Shards. Obviously, they are all part of an ongoing series, the fourth book of which I have just started writing. You can read more about the me and my books at my website, or right here at sffworld.com, and you can buy them at any online bookseller.

I have been married for 27 years (I got married when I was 5), I have three incredible sons, and three adorable dogs.

I was fortunate to meet Dag, the inspirational father of sffworld.com, after he reviewed my first book. Since then I have become a moderator here as well as a book reviewer myself.
My email address is gemquest1@hotmail.com.

Zane W. Olesen
Star of stage, screen and peep-show, and well known purveyor of refreshments, Zane can bench press 400 pounds and drink a six pack of brew in under sixty seconds. For some strange reason is also known as "the big dumb guy" in many other star systems.

Zane is renown for being able to eat a Hostess Cherry Pie in one bite.
One time during an evil hostile Alien invasion Zane beat up a whole bunch of Aliens real bad.

Zane also has developed the cruel taste to write and impose his brilliant ramblings on innocent civilizations through out the galaxy.

Zane has been shot at, beat-up, and, yelled at, and survived an 80 mile an hour car crash into a two ton boulder, and he still won't go away.
NASA and NATO are developing strategies, perfected against Godzilla, to stop him. Mankind can only wait and pray. In the mean while you're stuck with him.

Zane has made a sensation in the Fashion World and Pro-Sports when he wrestled dolphins while wearing a magnificent maroon cape with a Gi-normous yellow "Z" emblazoned on its back.

Zane has many hobbies, in addition to "adopting a Highway" on weekends, and petting girls, Zane likes to burn insects up with a magnifying glass.

Finally Zane can always be counted on to have minty smelling breath.

John Reichel
Hi! I am probably the only person on this staff who doesn't write anything, so I guess I am the only sane one here! I came to this site because I was looking for the answer to a question, and just fell in love with the place. When the opportunity arose to get on board and help, I jumped at it, and am honored to be part of this wonderful community.

In real life, I am 34 years old, married to an adorable woman named Yoko (John and Yoko, I know. Quite a co-incidence), and living in Vancouver BC, the greatest city in the world. I have a wide array of hobbies and interests, but reading good fantasy has to come near the top of the pile, right next to drinking beer while watching hockey or drinking beer after playing hockey.

I am still patiently waiting to win the lottery so I can retire.

A fan first and foremost. More than 50 years of reading and enjoying everything I can get my hands on. And that means everything from Red Planet Mars to Wittengen's Poker; from The Dark Wind to The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood; from Dilbert to The Creative Organization; from The Brain to The Science of Beauty, the Portable MBA to the Area Handbook for the People's Republic of China. I write science fiction and fantasy.

I'm in my late 20's and I am happily married to my college sweetheart. I've prouldy lived in New Jersey my whole life and I've been a fan of speculative fiction as long as I've been reading--from my initial introduction to the genre through the old Choose-Your-Own-AdventureŠ books to the early DragonLance novels to Stephen King to today's authors. Some of these authors include Jeffrey Ford, Robin Hobb, Greg Keyes, John Marco, Michael Moorcock, Matthew Stover, Tad Williams, to name just a few.

I'm writing my second novel now after making a shoddy bid at my first in between helping out here and working. Dag asked me to help out with the site in late 2000, I've been here ever since...moderating the forums, reviewing books, interviewing authors, overseeing the readers submission. I have met some great people and made great contacts within the genre and because of the forums and SFFW.

Aside from reading, some of my other interests are Baseball, Hockey, Movies, and music; mostly Metal, Hard Rock and Classic Rock--bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Godsmack, Disturbed, Live and Van Halen.

Enough about me, hop into our forums (http://wwww.sffworld.org/forums) and join the discussions! You will find people who are passionate about their reading tastes, interesting and sometimes engaging discussion about Speculative Fiction as well as some great book recommendations in most of our topics and posts.

I'm a software hired gun by vocation.
And out here, I Str.rop their razor for Scotus and Occam, and Strickle his Scythe for Toe Rag

My name's Lucy Huber, I'm a second year Sixth-form college student in Hampshire UK. I'm passionate about reading fantasy stories, but also enjoy other genres. I'm studying for A levels in Law, Psychology and Biology, and hope to follow this with a degree in law before a career as a barrister. I haven't done much at SFFW so far except read a few short stories and poems, but hope to contribute more in the future!

In every group there's an oddball. Thankfully that's not me. Hi there I'm Maj a 23 year old medical student in Leeds, UK with a fondness of Jaffa cakes.

Jason Damman
G'day, I'm Jason. I'm 18 years of age from Sydney, Australia. I love reading as well as writing fantasy short stories. My ambitions are to one day become a published author and to write my own fantasy series.

I came accross sffworld.com by mistake one day when I was looking for a friends short story submission on a similar website. As soon as I came onto this site though, I knew this was the place I had really been looking for. I got to reading a lot of the short stories on the website and then got in contact with Dag, requesting I be apart of his team.

You might see some of my work floating around the site in months to come, I have been writing more in the last two months. Don't be to shy to say hello, send me an e-mail, I'd be more than happy to talk with you. My contact e-mail address is red_baron@myway.com this is also my MSN address so feel free to add me.

Hello, a pleasure to be here. My maiden name was Reid and nickname at school was "Bookworm" so you could deduce from that one of my main passions in life is reading, particularly fantasy and horror. I have a degree in psychology from Queen's university in Belfast and am married with a nine year old daughter, also a cat called Belle who kind of runs the house.
I'm not working at the moment so have a bit of free time which is why I've offered my humble services here. Will do my best for you anyway. From what I've seen so far this is a great site with some very original, creative people.

Ello loves! There's not much that can be easily said of me. I hardly know where to begin. Anything remotely artisitc I do or want to do, with a particular fondness for the written word and theatre arts.
